  1. Nice little Lance, haven't seen one of these in a long time, not since I was doing my hunt for a camper and ended up with my KIT.

Now, I know you're getting a new pickup from your RV.net posts, so my suggestion and its an important one, since you plan to tow Harleys, is to get yourself at least an F250.

  2. P.S. you might want to modify your skin on your blog a bit, half the links are blending into the black background.

  3. Were gonna be towing sport bikes so they don't weigh nearly what harleys do lol. I am actually planning on a 4x4 f-150 and then beefing up the suspension. Everything I've read it will have no prob with the weight and towing. And I will change that too thx for the heads up

  4. Here's a secret, the figures lie. Having gone down the half ton road already myself and learned the hard lesson, don't sell yourself short, get an F250 with 4x4, there's no real savings in getting the half ton.

  5. Psst... and get a long bed, so you don't have to invest into expensive towing accessories.

  6. Well I agree with you but the main prob is money lol always is. I'm gonna be buying used so I will do some looking into f250s but most likely for my price range it will be hard to find one

  7. Our main goal is to get us started now and later down the road upgrade!

  8. Look older, say 1980s. I bought my 90s power wagon for $4000, but Power Wagons tend to keep their value.

The reason the half tons are cheap is there just that, they're not very durable trucks. Also, you'll also likely be starting with Passenger tires, so add at least $600 for tires, and then another couple hundred for rims, to get the half ton's wheels up to spec for hauling a camper.

A late model 70s-early 80s camper special Chevy, or Ford won't set you back near as much and also won't require risers and platforms to fit the camper onto its bed either. Newer trucks are narrower and taller than their older brethren.

There's a young fella with a classic lance from Cali on RV.net right now that went the classic route to haul his antique camper for similar reasons.

  9. Here's a classic Dodge Power Wagon, $1200 and 4x4.

Here's an older F250 in the Denver area for $900:
