  1. Did you originally have a front tank step, or was that just an open step?

  3. I found it better in your painting pictures, the angel and the girl friend made it hard to see, but at the very front, where you climb into the cabover, I couldn't tell if you'd pulled the step or not, in most older Truck Campers, that's where the fresh water tank and pump is located.

  4. Oh ok thats what I thought. But no it's just a very tiny step. I am gonna brace it cause it does not hold weight very well.

  5. I had to rebuild my tank step myself when I was adding additional framing and insulation and paneling to the "tub" of my camper (The bit that sits in the bed of the truck).

I found the least expensive and most durable solution was to rebuild the front of it by carefully removing the old frame and front and tracing it on a sheet of 1/2" plywood, then cutting a bunch of 1x2 material and gluing and screwing it to the plywood, then installing a new sheet of paneling on the front.

The sandwich frame is very very strong and easily supports my nearly 350lb back-side and well as secures 30 gallons of fresh water tightly in place.

  6. I am gonna bring it out about 2-3inchs then close it in and put a door on it and make extra storage. Build out of 2x4s for extra strength
